I have been thinking about life and plans a bit recently and decided to work up a list. (yes another list)
Here is a list of (at least) ten things that I want to do. My dreams. Goals. Hopes.
The list is not yet complete, but I will work out the last three over the next few months. And when I achieve something, it will be listed below and replaced. Yes, replaced. Once I have ten items, I will always try to find more goals towards which to strive.
Ten Things
- Drive across the country on minor highways, listening to music, eating in small diners, talking to the owners of small book and music stores. Keep a journal and write about all of it.
- Write at least one book about my experiences at Summer Camp. Will have to change a few names and pretend I was there for some good stories I missed by starting a year after many of my friends
- Get married to a wonderful woman. Someone I can speak with about books, movies, hopes, God, work, friends… everything.
- Actually manage to read the whole Bible. And understanding it would be nice also.
- Travel to the UK and explore. Take trains and rent a car. Stay at small inns. Go for day hikes in Ireland and Scotland.
- Live to see a true effort at full-scale space colonization. Or at the least, a long-term manned scientific base on Mars.
- Earn a masters degree. In what I do not know… I am really not knowledgeable or passionate enough about anything in particular to choose a thesis subject yet, but it would be both satisfying and bring a decent raise in pay.
(Anyone know of a respectable-ish university that would give me a masters for writing a short book on the The Bridge Trilogy?) - Either own my own bookstore or get a website (blog and/or camp information site) off the ground… or maybe both
